Dr. Natasha Ryz is the Chief Science Officer (CSO) at Zenabis, a federally legal Licensed Producer (LP) group in Canada, with a focus on medical cannabis research and development. With over 650,000 square feet for the cultivation and distribution of pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis, Zenabis is one of the largest privately owned LPs, with two licenced facilities in Delta, BC and Atholville, NB, and an upcoming facility in Stellarton, NS. As CSO, Natasha oversee cannabis analysis, extraction and product formulation. She also directs the cannabis research program and prepares cannabis education for health care providers including pharmacists and physicians.
Natasha has over 15 years experience as a health and nutrition researcher, speaker and educator. She has a PhD in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia and is a Vanier scholar. She also holds a Master of Science degree and a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba.
Natasha has published 7 first author peer-reviewed publications, 2 first author reviews, and co-authored 8 peer-reviewed publications. Her most recent review paper “Cannabis roots: a traditional therapy with future potential for treating inflammation and pain” was published in the Journal of Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research with Dr. Ethan Russo.
Natasha is also cofounder of Ryz Rémi Skincare & Therapeutics, and she designs topical products for pain and inflammatory conditions as well as beauty.
